Staying Healthy during a pandemic

These are difficult times at say the least. Trying to self isolate, keeping contrarian octogenarian parents to take things seriously, learning how to order everything to be delivered, finding toilet paper and yes, wearing a mask, all have been major changes in my daily routine. I don’t go out anymore.

However, nothing has been more challenging than what my friends are going through in New York. I watch Cuomo’s pressers every day, and I get so anxious I have to turn off the tv and try manage my stress. I’ve been doing yoga everyday, which really helps mitigate my anxiety. I’ve done Yoga with Adrienne, and I also use the DownDog app which is free until July.

So while we all hunker down and stay safe here are a few ways you can pamper yourself. Get library books free on Libby app, order fresh vegetables from local farmers delivered, take a nice soaking bath, journal about what you are going through, order take out to help local restaurants, try cooking new recipes, do at home wine tasting, Order gourmet cheeses etc.

Let’s all do our part to stay safe, stay at home, and keep our loved ones safe.

In solidarity, love, and light,

Sarah

Big Camp

Big Camp was named after an old home on Chappaquiddick Island. The house smells like old wood, fresh linens, salt air, native plants, mossy rocks, old docks, pine trees, and native grasses. It is a place, my friend Brad Woodger writes in the Vineyard Gazette about his summers there as a child “ We’d drink from jelly jars with Jughead and Archie fading on the glass, and eat Pilot Crackers with peanut butter for lunch. We’d run and swim and dry off and swim again, and then sleep in beds with sandy sheets. It was heaven.” We at Tashmoo, are inspired by scent memory, while creating an entirely new scent which will evoke memories to come.
